An Offer You Can't Refuse

If the target is no longer legal as An Offer You Can't Refuse resolves, no Treasure tokens are created.

If the target is still legal as it resolves but the spell can't be countered for some reason, its controller will still create two Treasure tokens.

Counter target noncreature spell. Its controller creates two Treasure tokens. (They're artifacts with "{T}, Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color.")

Brainstorm

You draw three cards and put two cards back all while Brainstorm is resolving. Nothing can happen between the two, and no player may choose to take actions.

Draw three cards, then put two cards from your hand on top of your library in any order.

Whenever you cast a spell that [CHOICE A], create a green Elemental creature token named Maro with "This creature's power and toughness are each equal to the number of [CHOICE B]."

Death's Shadow

Death's Shadow's ability applies only while Death's Shadow is on the battlefield. In all other zones, its power and toughness are 13.

If your life total is negative, X is considered to be 0.

In a Two-Headed Giant game, your life total is your team's life total.

The value of X changes as you gain and lose life. It's not locked in as Death's Shadow enters the battlefield.

Death's Shadow gets -X/-X, where X is your life total.

Dragonlord Silumgar

If Dragonlord Silumgar ceases to be under your control before its ability resolves, you won’t gain control of the creature or planeswalker at all.

If Dragonlord Silumgar leaves the battlefield, you no longer control it, and its control-change effect ends.

If another player gains control of Dragonlord Silumgar, its control-change effect ends. Regaining control of Dragonlord Silumgar won’t cause you to regain control of the creature or planeswalker.

Flying, deathtouch
When Dragonlord Silumgar enters, gain control of target creature or planeswalker for as long as you control Dragonlord Silumgar.

Eldritch Evolution

A creature's mana value is determined solely by the mana symbols printed in its upper right corner (unless that creature is the back face of a double-faced card, a melded card, or is copying something else; see below). If the mana cost includes {X}, X is considered to be 0. If it's a single-faced card with no mana symbols in its upper right corner (because it's an animated land, for example), its mana value is 0. Ignore any alternative costs or additional costs (such as kicker) paid when the creature was cast.

A token that isn't a copy of another permanent has a mana value of 0. A token that is a copy or a creature that has become a copy of another permanent has the mana value of what it's copying.

If a card in a library has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0. If you find such a card this way, you won't have an opportunity to spend mana on {X}.

Once you begin to cast Eldritch Evolution, no player may take actions until you're done. Notably, opponents can't try to remove the creature you wish to sacrifice.

Sacrificing a creature is part of Eldritch Evolution's cost. You can't sacrifice more creatures to search for more creature cards, and you can't cast Eldritch Evolution at all if you control no creatures.

The mana value of a permanent that's a double-faced card with its back face up is the mana value of its front face. The mana value of a melded permanent is the sum of the mana values of its front faces. A creature that's a copy of either has a mana value of 0.

As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a creature.
Search your library for a creature card with mana value X or less, where X is 2 plus the sacrificed creature's mana value. Put that card onto the battlefield, then shuffle. Exile Eldritch Evolution.

Explore

Explore's effect allows you to play an additional land during your main phase. Doing so follows the normal timing rules for playing lands. In particular, you don't get to play a land as Explore resolves; Explore fully resolves first and you draw a card, perhaps a land you'll play later.

If you somehow manage to cast Explore when it's not your turn, you'll draw a card when it resolves, but you won't be able to play a land that turn.

The effects of multiple Explores in the same turn are cumulative. They're also cumulative with other effects that let you play additional lands, such as the one from Urban Evolution.

You may play an additional land this turn.
Draw a card.

Expressive Iteration

Cards exiled are always exiled face up unless specified otherwise by the effect that exiled it.

If you choose to play the exiled card this turn, you must still pay all costs and follow all timing restrictions required by that card. If it's a land, you can't play it unless you have a land play available.

If you don't play the exiled card, it remains exiled. It won't be available to be played on future turns.

Look at the top three cards of your library. Put one of them into your hand, put one of them on the bottom of your library, and exile one of them. You may play the exiled card this turn.

Fatal Push

Fatal Push can target any creature, even one with mana value 5 or greater. The creature's mana value is checked only as Fatal Push resolves.

If a creature on the battlefield has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.

Revolt abilities don't care why the permanent left the battlefield, who caused it to move, or where it moved to. They're equally satisfied by an artifact you sacrificed to pay a cost, a creature you controlled that was destroyed by Cast Down, or an enchantment you returned to your hand with Cyclonic Rift.

Tokens that leave the battlefield will satisfy a revolt ability.

Destroy target creature if it has mana value 2 or less.
Revolt — Destroy that creature if it has mana value 4 or less instead if a permanent you controlled left the battlefield this turn.

Force of Despair

Force of Despair destroys all permanents that entered the battlefield this turn and are currently creatures. It doesn’t matter whether they were creatures as they entered the battlefield.

If it's not your turn, you may exile a black card from your hand rather than pay this spell's mana cost.
Destroy all creatures that entered this turn.

"Trust me, the quickest path down the mountain is just over this ridge."

Goblin Guide

If Goblin Guide is attacking a planeswalker, that planeswalker's controller is the defending player.

If the defending player reveals a nonland card, it remains on top of their library.

Haste
Whenever Goblin Guide attacks, defending player reveals the top card of their library. If it's a land card, that player puts it into their hand.

Lightning Bolt

Lightning Bolt deals 3 damage to any target.

Mayhem Devil

A legendary permanent that is put into a graveyard because of the "legend rule" isn't sacrificed.

If a permanent is sacrificed to pay a cost of a spell or ability, Mayhem Devil's ability will resolve before that spell or ability. Conversely, if a permanent is sacrificed during the resolution of a spell or ability, that spell or ability will finish resolving before Mayhem Devil's ability is put onto the stack.

If you sacrifice Mayhem Devil, its ability triggers.

Mayhem Devil itself doesn't allow any player to sacrifice any permanents. Its ability triggers whenever a player sacrifices a permanent because some other spell, ability, or cost instructed the player to do so.

You control Mayhem Devil's triggered ability and choose the target, no matter who sacrificed the permanent.

Whenever a player sacrifices a permanent, Mayhem Devil deals 1 damage to any target.

Murktide Regent

Because delve isn't an alternative cost, it can be used in conjunction with alternative costs, such as flashback. It can also be used to pay for additional costs that include generic mana.

Delve doesn't change a spell's mana cost or mana value. For example, Murktide Regent's mana value is 7 even if you exiled three cards to cast it.

You can exile cards to pay only for generic mana, and you can't exile more cards than the generic mana requirement of a spell with delve. For example, you can't exile more than five cards from your graveyard to cast Murktide Regent unless an effect has increased its cost.

Delve (Each card you exile from your graveyard while casting this spell pays for {1}.)
Flying
Murktide Regent enters with a +1/+1 counter on it for each instant and sorcery card exiled with it.
Whenever an instant or sorcery card leaves your graveyard, put a +1/+1 counter on Murktide Regent.

Nexus of Fate

Nexus of Fate’s last ability applies if it would be put into a graveyard in any way, including while it’s resolving.

Take an extra turn after this one.
If Nexus of Fate would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, reveal Nexus of Fate and shuffle it into its owner's library instead.

If you choose to shuffle your library, that includes the three cards you just looked at and put back on top of it.

Look at the top three cards of your library, then put them back in any order. You may shuffle.

Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer

If a creature enters the battlefield as a copy of or becomes a copy of a creature whose dash cost was paid, the copy won't have haste and won't be returned to its owner's hand.

If you choose to pay the dash cost rather than the mana cost, you're still casting the spell. It goes on the stack and can be responded to and countered. You can cast a creature spell for its dash cost only when you otherwise could cast that creature spell. Most of the time, this means during your main phase when the stack is empty.

If you pay the dash cost to cast a creature spell, that card will be returned to its owner's hand only if it's still on the battlefield when its triggered ability resolves. If it dies or goes to another zone before then, it will stay where it is.

You don't have to attack with the creature with dash unless another ability says you do.

You must still follow all timing restrictions and pay all costs when casting the exiled card. If you exile a land card, you can't play that card.

You'll create a Treasure token even if that player has no cards left in their library to exile.

Whenever Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer deals combat damage to a player, create a Treasure token and exile the top card of that player's library. Until end of turn, you may cast that card.
Dash {1}{R} (You may cast this spell for its dash cost. If you do, it gains haste, and it's returned from the battlefield to its owner's hand at the beginning of the next end step.)

If you nourish them, they grow calamitous.

Relentless Rats

Because damage remains marked on a creature until the damage is removed as the turn ends, nonlethal damage dealt to one Relentless Rats may become lethal if another Relentless Rats leaves the battlefield during that turn.

The last ability of Relentless Rats lets you ignore the “four-of” rule. It doesn’t let you ignore format legality. For example, during a Bloomburrow Limited event, you can’t add Relentless Rats from your personal collection.

Relentless Rats gets +1/+1 for each other creature on the battlefield named Relentless Rats.
A deck can have any number of cards named Relentless Rats.

Seasoned Pyromancer

If you have fewer than two cards in hand as Seasoned Pyromancer’s first ability resolves, you’ll discard your hand, then draw two cards regardless of how many you discarded.

When Seasoned Pyromancer enters, discard two cards, then draw two cards. For each nonland card discarded this way, create a 1/1 red Elemental creature token.
{3}{R}{R}, Exile Seasoned Pyromancer from your graveyard: Create two 1/1 red Elemental creature tokens.

Sleight of Hand

If there is only one card in your library, you put it into your hand.

Look at the top two cards of your library. Put one of them into your hand and the other on the bottom of your library.

Counter target noncreature spell unless its controller pays {2}.

The beating drum inspired dancing, provoked fighting, and compelled both.

Springleaf Drum

You can tap a creature that hasn't been under your control since your most recent turn began to activate Springleaf Drum's ability.

{T}, Tap an untapped creature you control: Add one mana of any color.

Supreme Verdict

This spell can't be countered.
Destroy all creatures.

Swords to Plowshares

Use the power of the creature from when it was last on the battlefield to determine how much life is gained.

Exile target creature. Its controller gains life equal to its power.

Ugin, the Spirit Dragon

If you choose to put permanent cards with morph onto the battlefield with the third ability, you must put them onto the battlefield face up.

Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is not a Dragon card; that is, he doesn't have the creature type Dragon. Spells and abilities that refer to Dragon cards or Dragons don't apply to Ugin.

A permanent card is an artifact, creature, enchantment, land, or planeswalker card.

If a permanent has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.

The mana value of a token that isn't a copy of another object is 0. A token that is a copy of another object has the same mana cost as that object.

[+2]: Ugin, the Spirit Dragon deals 3 damage to any target.
[−X]: Exile each permanent with mana value X or less that's one or more colors.
[−10]: You gain 7 life, draw seven cards, then put up to seven permanent cards from your hand onto the battlefield.

Unholy Heat

The card types that can appear in a graveyard are artifact, battle, creature, enchantment, instant, kindred, land, planeswalker, and sorcery. Legendary, basic, and snow are supertypes, not card types; Kavu and Equipment are subtypes, not card types.

Unholy Heat checks your graveyard as it resolves to determine if it deals 2 or 6 damage. At that time, Unholy Heat isn't in the graveyard yet.

Unholy Heat deals 2 damage to target creature or planeswalker.
Delirium — Unholy Heat deals 6 damage instead if there are four or more card types among cards in your graveyard.

Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle

If a Mountain you control leaves the battlefield between the time Valakut's second ability triggers and the time it resolves, be aware if that was the Mountain that caused Valakut's ability to trigger or not. If it was, Valakut's count isn't affected; if it wasn't, Valakut's count goes down by one.

If multiple Mountains enter under your control at the same time, Valakut's second ability could trigger that many times. Each ability takes into consideration the other Mountains that entered at the same time as the one that caused it to trigger.

Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle's triggered ability has an "intervening 'if' clause." That means (1) the ability won't trigger at all unless, at the time a Mountain enters under your control, you control five or more Mountains other than that new one, and (2) the ability will do nothing if you control fewer than five Mountains other than that new one by the time it resolves.

You target a permanent or player when the ability triggers. You decide whether to have Valakut deal damage to that permanent or player as the ability resolves.

Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle enters tapped.
Whenever a Mountain you control enters, if you control at least five other Mountains, you may have Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle deal 3 damage to any target.

Wrenn and Six

When a spell you cast with retrace resolves or is countered, it’s put back into your graveyard. You may use the retrace ability to cast it again.

[+1]: Return up to one target land card from your graveyard to your hand.
[−1]: Wrenn and Six deals 1 damage to any target.
[−7]: You get an emblem with "Instant and sorcery cards in your graveyard have retrace." (You may cast instant and sorcery cards from your graveyard by discarding a land card in addition to paying their other costs.)
