Acquire

Search target opponent's library for an artifact card and put that card onto the battlefield under your control. Then that player shuffles.

Fayden didn't know if the giant had created the spehere's magic—only that he had to escape it to find Sifa.

Arrest

Activated abilities contain a colon. They’re generally written “[Cost]: [Effect].” Some keywords are activated abilities and will have colons in their reminder text.

Enchant creature
Enchanted creature can't attack or block, and its activated abilities can't be activated.

The draconic demon loomed over Dack, and he suddenly sensed he wasn't the only Planeswalker that Malfegor had encountered.

Consume Spirit

If the targeted permanent or player is an illegal target by the time Consume Spirit would resolve, the entire spell doesn’t resolve. You won’t gain any life.

The amount of life you gain is equal to the number chosen for X, not the amount of damage Consume Spirit deals (in case some of it is prevented).

Spend only black mana on X.
Consume Spirit deals X damage to any target and you gain X life.

Corrupt

The amount of damage dealt to a creature is not bounded by its toughness, and the amount of damage dealt to a player is not bounded by that player's life total. For example, if Corrupt deals 6 damage to a 2/2 creature, you'll gain 6 life.

The life you gain is equal to the damage dealt by Corrupt, not necessarily to the number of Swamps you control (if some or all of the damage is prevented, for example).

Corrupt counts any land you control with the subtype Swamp, not just ones named Swamp.

Corrupt deals damage to any target equal to the number of Swamps you control. You gain life equal to the damage dealt this way.

Duress

Target opponent reveals their hand. You choose a noncreature, nonland card from it. That player discards that card.

Electrolyze

If Electrolyze targets two creatures and one becomes an illegal target, the remaining target is dealt 1 damage, not 2. You'll still draw a card.

If all chosen targets are illegal as Electrolyze tries to resolve, it won't resolve and none of its effects will happen. No damage will be dealt and you won't draw a card.

You divide the damage as you cast Electrolyze, not as it resolves. Each target must be assigned at least 1 damage. In other words, as you cast Electrolyze, you choose whether to have it deal 2 damage to a single target, or deal 1 damage to each of two targets.

Electrolyze deals 2 damage divided as you choose among one or two targets.
Draw a card.

Faithless Looting

You draw two cards and discard two cards all while Faithless Looting is resolving. Nothing can happen between the two, and no player may choose to take actions.

"Flashback [cost]" means "You may cast this card from your graveyard by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost" and "If the flashback cost was paid, exile this card instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack."

A spell cast using flashback will always be exiled afterward, whether it resolves, is countered, or leaves the stack in some other way.

If a card with flashback is put into your graveyard during your turn, you can cast it if it's legal to do so before any other player can take any actions.

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a flashback cost) you're paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The mana value of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.

You can cast a spell using flashback even if it was somehow put into your graveyard without having been cast.

You must still follow any timing restrictions and permissions, including those based on the card's type. For instance, you can cast a sorcery using flashback only when you could normally cast a sorcery.

Draw two cards, then discard two cards.

Imbued in the Ancient Fang were spells far darker than any Dack Fayden would cast.

Feast of Blood

If the targeted creature is an illegal target by the time Feast of Blood resolves, the entire spell doesn’t resolve. You don’t gain life.

Whether you control two or more Vampires is checked only as you try to move Feast of Blood to the stack as the first step of casting it. It doesn’t matter whether you still control two or more Vampires as you finish casting Feast of Blood (in case you somehow sacrifice one to produce mana) or as Feast of Blood resolves.

Cast this spell only if you control two or more Vampires.
Destroy target creature. You gain 4 life.

Gaze of Granite

If a permanent has {X} in its mana cost, the value of that X is 0.

The mana value of a creature token is 0 unless that token is a copy of another creature, in which case it copies that creature’s mana cost.

Destroy each nonland permanent with mana value X or less.

High Tide

The delayed triggered ability refers to any land with the land type Island, not just those named Island.

The effect applies even if the Island in question entered the battlefield after High Tide resolved.

Until end of turn, whenever a player taps an Island for mana, that player adds an additional {U}.

Standstill

It only works once. If someone casts another spell after it triggers, but before that trigger resolves, then it will trigger again. The first time one of these triggers resolves, it will be sacrificed for the full effect. Any additional triggers on the stack will do nothing when they resolve because you will be unable to sacrifice it additional times.

When a player casts a spell, sacrifice Standstill. If you do, each of that player's opponents draws three cards.

Treasure Hunt

If all the cards left in your library are lands, you’ll reveal all of them and put them all into your hand.

The cards you put into your hand this way include one nonland card, plus all the land cards on top of it in your library (if any). If the top card of your library is a nonland card, you just get that one.

Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a nonland card, then put all cards revealed this way into your hand.

Turnabout

You decide on resolution if you are tapping or untapping, and which kind of permanent you are affecting.

Choose artifact, creature, or land. Tap all untapped permanents of the chosen type target player controls, or untap all tapped permanents of that type that player controls.

Voidmage Husher

Flash (You may cast this spell any time you could cast an instant.)
When Voidmage Husher enters, counter target activated ability. (Mana abilities can't be targeted.)
Whenever you cast a spell, you may return Voidmage Husher to its owner's hand.
