All-Seeing Arbiter

Flying
Whenever All-Seeing Arbiter enters the battlefield or attacks, draw two cards, then discard a card.
Whenever you discard a card, target creature an opponent controls gets -X/-0 until your next turn, where X is the number of different mana values among cards in your graveyard.

The mana value of a double-faced card in your graveyard is always the mana value of the front face.

The mana value of a split card in the graveyard is the total mana value of both halves of that card. It does not have two mana values.

X is 0 when determining the mana value of a card in your graveyard.

Braids, Arisen Nightmare

If the permanent that you sacrifice as you resolve Braids’s triggered ability has more than one card type, each opponent may choose to sacrifice any permanent they control that shares any card type with it. For example, if the permanent you sacrifice is an artifact creature, one opponent might choose to sacrifice an artifact and another opponent might choose to sacrifice a creature.

At the beginning of your end step, you may sacrifice an artifact, creature, enchantment, land, or planeswalker. If you do, each opponent may sacrifice a permanent that shares a card type with it. For each opponent who doesn't, that player loses 2 life and you draw a card.

Power Word Kill

Destroy target non-Angel, non-Demon, non-Devil, non-Dragon creature.

A creature is a legal target for Power Word Kill if it doesn't have any of these four creature types. If it has one of these four creature types, it's not a legal target, even if it also has a creature type that's not among these four. For example, a Demon Rogue is not a valid target for this spell.

Recruitment Officer

{3}{W}: Look at the top four cards of your library. You may reveal a creature card with mana value 3 or less from among them and put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

Shivan Devastator

Flying, haste
Shivan Devastator enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it.

Skyclave Apparition

When Skyclave Apparition enters the battlefield, exile up to one target nonland, nontoken permanent you don't control with mana value 4 or less.
When Skyclave Apparition leaves the battlefield, the exiled card's owner creates an X/X blue Illusion creature token, where X is the mana value of the exiled card.

If Skyclave Apparition leaves the battlefield before its first ability resolves, the ability still exiles the target permanent.

If Skyclave Apparition’s first ability exiled more than one card owned by a single player, that player creates a token with power and toughness equal to the sum of those cards’ converted mana costs. If the first ability exiled cards owned by more than one player, each of those players creates a token with power and toughness equal to the sum of the converted mana costs of all cards exiled by the first ability.

If a creature on the battlefield has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.

If there’s no exiled card when Skyclave Apparition leaves the battlefield (most likely because its first ability hasn’t resolved yet), no player creates a token.

Surge Engine

If Surge Engine loses defender in some way other than its first ability, its second ability may still be activated. Likewise, if it becomes blue in some way other than its second ability, its last ability may still be activated. Note that an effect that allows a creature to "attack as though it didn't have defender" doesn't actually cause it to lose defender.

If a Surge Engine whose last ability has been activated leaves the battlefield and comes back, it's a new object on the battlefield and its last ability can be activated again (once it's blue, of course).

Surge Engine's last ability can be activated only once per game, not once per turn.

Defender
{U}: Surge Engine loses defender and gains "This creature can't be blocked."
{2}{U}: Surge Engine becomes blue and has base power and toughness 5/4. Activate only if Surge Engine doesn't have defender.
{4}{U}{U}: Draw three cards. Activate only if Surge Engine is blue and only once.

Touch the Spirit Realm

Auras attached to the exiled permanent will be put into their owners' graveyards. Any Equipment will become unattached and remain on the battlefield. Any counters on the exiled permanent will cease to exist. When the card returns to the battlefield, it will be a new object with no connection to the card that was exiled.

Discarding the card is part of the cost to activate a channel ability.

If Touch the Spirit Realm leaves the battlefield before its first ability resolves, the target permanent won't be exiled.

If a channel ability requires a target, you may not activate it without a target just to discard the card.

If a double-faced card is exiled and returned to the battlefield with Touch the Spirit Realm or its channel ability, that card will return to the battlefield front-face up.

If a token is exiled this way, it will cease to exist and won't return to the battlefield.

When Touch the Spirit Realm enters the battlefield, exile up to one target artifact or creature until Touch the Spirit Realm leaves the battlefield.
Channel — {1}{W}, Discard Touch the Spirit Realm: Exile target artifact or creature. Return it to the battlefield under its owner's control at the beginning of the next end step.

Workshop Warchief

If a creature enters the battlefield as a copy of or becomes a copy of a creature whose blitz cost was paid, the copy won't have haste, won't be sacrificed, and its controller won't draw a card when it dies.

If you choose to pay the blitz cost rather than the mana cost, you're still casting the spell. It goes on the stack and can be responded to and countered. You can cast a creature spell for its blitz cost only if you could cast that creature spell. Most of the time, this means during your main phase when the stack is empty.

If you pay the blitz cost to cast a creature spell, that permanent will be sacrificed only if it's still on the battlefield when that triggered ability resolves. If it dies or goes to another zone before then, it will stay where it is.

The triggered ability that lets its controller draw a card triggers when it dies for any reason, not just when you sacrifice it during the end step.

You don't have to attack with the creature with blitz unless another ability says you do.

Trample
When Workshop Warchief enters the battlefield, you gain 3 life.
When Workshop Warchief dies, create a 4/4 green Rhino Warrior creature token.
Blitz {4}{G}{G} (If you cast this spell for its blitz cost, it gains haste and "When this creature dies, draw a card." Sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step.)
