Adaptive Automaton

As Adaptive Automaton enters the battlefield, choose a creature type.
Adaptive Automaton is the chosen type in addition to its other types.
Other creatures you control of the chosen type get +1/+1.

Even though Adaptive Automaton is a Construct, other Construct creatures you control won't get +1/+1 unless you chose Construct as Adaptive Automaton entered the battlefield.

The choice of creature type is made as Adaptive Automaton enters the battlefield. Players can't take any actions between the time the choice is made and the time the appropriate creatures begin to get +1/+1.

You must choose an existing creature type, such as Human or Warrior. Card types such as artifact and supertypes such as legendary can't be chosen.

Aether Gale

Return six target nonland permanents to their owners' hands.

You must choose six different legal targets in order to cast Aether Gale. If some, but not all, of those targets become illegal before Aether Gale resolves, the remaining legal targets will be put into their owners' hands.

Aggravated Assault

{3}{R}{R}: Untap all creatures you control. After this main phase, there is an additional combat phase followed by an additional main phase. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery.

If you have enough mana, the ability may be activated more than once in a turn.

You will normally activate this ability during your postcombat main phase so you can untap any creatures that attacked.

{3}{R}{R}: Untap all creatures you control. After this main phase, there is an additional combat phase followed by an additional main phase. Activate only as a sorcery.

The cave floods with light. A thousand rays shine forth and meld into one.

Beacon of Immortality

Double target player's life total. Shuffle Beacon of Immortality into its owner's library.

If you double a negative life total, you do the real math. A life total of -10 becomes -20.

Beacon of Immortality’s effect counts as life gain (or life loss, if the life total was negative) for effects that trigger on or replace life gain (or life loss).

If a Beacon is countered or doesn’t resolve, it’s put into its owner’s graveyard, not shuffled into the library.

Centuries of association with the Sun Empire have taught the dinosaurs that shiny things are important.

Blatant Thievery

For each opponent, gain control of target permanent that player controls.

If a permanent changes controller after being targeted but before this spell resolves, you won't gain control of that permanent.

You gain control of only one permanent from each player.

Bloodbond Vampire

Whenever you gain life, put a +1/+1 counter on Bloodbond Vampire.

A creature with lifelink dealing combat damage is a single life-gaining event. For example, if two creatures you control with lifelink deal combat damage at the same time, the ability will trigger twice. However, if a single creature with lifelink deals combat damage to multiple creatures, players, and/or planeswalkers at the same time (perhaps because it has trample or was blocked by more than one creature), the ability will trigger only once.

In a Two-Headed Giant game, life gained by your teammate won’t cause the ability to trigger, even though it causes your team’s life total to increase.

The ability triggers just once for each life-gaining event, whether it’s 1 life from Drana’s Emissary or 7 life from Nissa’s Renewal.

Borderland Ranger

When Borderland Ranger enters the battlefield, you may search your library for a basic land card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.

Hunter's Prowess

Until end of turn, target creature gets +3/+3 and gains trample and "Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, draw that many cards."

Zombies mourn for the living and celebrate those who will soon be given the gift of death.

Innocent Blood

You can cast Innocent Blood even if some (or all) players control no creatures. Those players are simply unaffected.

Within silent clearings guarded by living palisades, the natural world guards its most precious secrets.

Jungle Barrier

Defender
When Jungle Barrier enters the battlefield, draw a card.

Though less well-known than its army of soldiers, the Boros Legion's mage-priests are as respected by the innocent as they are hated by the ghosts of the guilty.

Lightning Helix

Lightning Helix deals 3 damage to target creature or player and you gain 3 life.

If the chosen target is illegal when Lightning Helix tries to resolve, it won't resolve and none of its effects will happen. You won't gain 3 life.

Mass Mutiny

For each opponent, gain control of up to one target creature that player controls until end of turn. Untap those creatures. They gain haste until end of turn.

Gaining control of a creature doesn't cause you to gain control of any Auras or Equipment attached to it. However, if you gain control of a creature enchanted by an Aura with umbra armor and that creature would be destroyed that turn, instead the Aura will be destroyed and the creature will survive.

Mass Mutiny can target untapped creatures.

The phrase "up to one" was inadvertently omitted from Mass Mutiny's rules text. The card has received errata to correct this.

You can cast Mass Mutiny even if an opponent doesn't control any creatures. You simply won't choose a target for that opponent.

Merfolk Sovereign

Other Merfolk creatures you control get +1/+1.
{T}: Target Merfolk creature can't be blocked this turn.

To have any effect, Merfolk Sovereign's activated ability must be activated before the declare blockers step begins. Once a Merfolk has become blocked, activating Merfolk Sovereign's ability won't change that.

Many who cross Sorin's path come down with a sudden and fatal case of being-in-the-way-of-a-millennia-old-vampire.

Mortify

This spell isn't Modal. When it resolves, it will destroy the target if it's a creature or an enchantment, even if it changed from one to the other between targeting and resolution.

Necropolis Regent

Flying
Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, put that many +1/+1 counters on it.

If that creature deals combat damage to a player at the same time it's dealt lethal damage (perhaps because it has trample and was blocked), it will die before the triggered ability resolves and puts +1/+1 counters on it.

Path to Exile

Exile target creature. Its controller may search his or her library for a basic land card, put that card onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle his or her library.

If the target creature is an illegal target by the time Path to Exile tries to resolve, the spell won't resolve. The creature's controller won't search for a basic land card.

The controller of the exiled creature isn't required to search their library for a basic land. If that player doesn't, the player won't shuffle their library.

Exile target creature. Its controller may search their library for a basic land card, put that card onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.

Nature exists in balance: river and jungle, sky and sea, predator and prey.

Prey Upon

Target creature you control fights target creature you don't control. (Each deals damage equal to its power to the other.)

If either target is an illegal target as Prey Upon resolves, no creature will deal or be dealt damage.

It bends not light but mana, aligning its chaotic currents into the sharp angles necessary for the mystic's purposes.

Prismatic Lens

{T}: Add {C} to your mana pool.
{1}, {T}: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.

{1}, {T}: Add one mana of any color.

Those who examine the amulet too closely have been known to become part of its ornate carvings.

Quicksilver Amulet

{4}, {T}: You may put a creature card from your hand onto the battlefield.

Any 'X' in the creature's cost is treated as zero.

Putting the card onto the battlefield is optional. When the ability resolves, you can choose not to.

You don't pay any costs of that creature card, including additional costs.

Rancor

When Rancor is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, return Rancor to its owner's hand.

If the creature this Aura would enchant is an illegal target by the time Rancor tries to resolve, the Aura spell doesn't resolve. It won't enter the battlefield, so it won't be put into a graveyard from the battlefield and its ability won't trigger.

Scarecrows only go so far in sending the message to stay away.

Rush of Adrenaline

Target creature gets +2/+1 and gains trample until end of turn.

Shared Animosity

Whenever a creature you control attacks, it gets +1/+0 until end of turn for each other attacking creature that shares a creature type with it.

In a Two-Headed Giant game, only creatures you control trigger the ability and get the bonus, but your teammate's attacking creatures are included in the calculation of those bonuses.

This ability counts creatures, not creature types. For example, if you attack with five creatures — an Elf Shaman, an Elf Warrior, a Goblin Shaman, an Elemental, and a creature with all creature types — the ability will trigger five times. Those creatures will get +3/+0, +2/+0, +2/+0, +1/+0, and +4/+0, respectively.

Shielded by Faith

Enchant creature
Enchanted creature has indestructible.
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield, you may attach Shielded by Faith to that creature.

A creature card that enters as a copy of a token creature is still a nontoken creature. You'll be able to draw a card.

Threads of Disloyalty

You control enchanted creature.

Creatures on the battlefield treat {X} in their mana cost as 0 for the purposes of calculating mana values.

Threads of Disloyalty can't target a creature with mana value 3 or greater. If it somehow enchants a creature with mana value 3 or greater, Threads of Disloyalty is put into the graveyard the next time state-based actions are checked.

Time Warp

Target player takes an extra turn after this one.

If multiple "extra turn" effects resolve in the same turn, take them in the reverse of the order that the effects resolved. In other words, the most recently created extra turn is taken first.

Unsummon

Return target creature to its owner's hand.

Urge to Feed

Target creature gets -3/-3 until end of turn. You may tap any number of untapped Vampire creatures you control. If you do, put a +1/+1 counter on each of those Vampires.

If the targeted creature is an illegal target by the time Urge to Feed resolves, the entire spell doesn't resolve. You can't tap any Vampires.

If you cast Urge to Feed targeting an untapped Vampire creature you control with toughness 3, its toughness will be reduced to 0 by the -3/-3 effect. However, state-based actions aren't checked until the spell has finished resolving. You may then tap that Vampire and put a +1/+1 counter on it, raising its toughness to 1. It will remain on the battlefield.

You don't choose which untapped Vampire creatures you control to tap (if any) until Urge to Feed resolves.

He listens to every heartbeat, deciding which one of hundreds he will stop.
