Arcum's Weathervane

Adds the snow or removes the snow supertype to or from a land. Adding snow doesn’t overwrite other supertypes.

Can’t be used on a dual land to add the Snow Supertype even though it is a basic land subtype. You can use it on any land to remove the snow supertype.

{2}, {T}: Target snow land is no longer snow.
{2}, {T}: Target nonsnow basic land becomes snow.

Ashen Ghoul

A card is “above” another card in your graveyard if it was put into that graveyard later.

If an effect or rule puts two or more cards into the same graveyard at the same time, the owner of those cards may arrange them in any order.

Players may not rearrange the cards in their graveyards.

Say you’re the owner of both a permanent and an Aura that’s attached to it. If both the permanent and the Aura are destroyed at the same time (by Akroma’s Vengeance, for example), you decide the order they’re put into your graveyard. If just the enchanted permanent is destroyed, it’s put into your graveyard first. Then, after state-based actions are checked, the Aura (which is no longer attached to anything) is put into your graveyard on top of it.

The last thing that happens to a resolving instant or sorcery spell is that it’s put into its owner’s graveyard. Example: You cast Wrath of God. All creatures on the battlefield are destroyed. You arrange all the cards put into your graveyard this way in any order you want. The other players in the game do the same to the cards that are put into their graveyards. Then you put Wrath of God into your graveyard, on top of the other cards.

Haste
{B}: Return Ashen Ghoul from your graveyard to the battlefield. Activate only during your upkeep and only if three or more creature cards are above Ashen Ghoul.

One aurochs may feed a village, but a herd will flatten it.

Aurochs

The bonus is not applied until after you check for attack legality, so it is a 2/3 creature when declaring attackers.

The ability counts the number of attacking creatures with the creature type Aurochs, not just those named Aurochs.

Trample
Whenever Aurochs attacks, it gets +1/+0 until end of turn for each other attacking Aurochs.

Balduvian Dead

If the ability is activated during a turn’s Ending phase (after any “at the beginning of the End step” triggers would have triggered that turn), the Graveborn token will remain on the battlefield until the following turn’s End step.

{2}{R}, Exile a creature card from your graveyard: Create a 3/1 black and red Graveborn creature token with haste. Sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step.

Barbed Sextant

This is not modal. If the target changes from an artifact to an enchantment or vice versa, this still destroys it.

Drift of the Dead's power and toughness are each equal to the number of snow lands you control.

Gangrenous Zombies

Whether it does 1 or 2 damage is checked on resolution.

{T}, Sacrifice Gangrenous Zombies: Gangrenous Zombies deals 1 damage to each creature and each player. If you control a snow Swamp, Gangrenous Zombies deals 2 damage to each creature and each player instead.

Giant Trap Door Spider

If Giant Trap Door Spider leaves the battlefield before its ability resolves, the ability will still resolve as normal. The targeted creature will be exiled.

If the targeted creature leaves the battlefield (or otherwise becomes an illegal target) before the ability resolves, the ability won’t resolve. Giant Trap Door Spider will remain on the battlefield.

Gorilla Shaman

A tip on how this math works: The cost to destroy a noncreature artifact with mana value 0 is {0} + {0} + {1} = {1}. The cost to destroy a noncreature artifact with mana value 1 is {1} + {1} + {1} = {3}. The cost to destroy a noncreature artifact with mana value 2 is {2} + {2} + {1} = {5}. And so on.

{X}{X}{1}: Destroy target noncreature artifact with mana value X.

Iceberg

Iceberg enters with X ice counters on it.

Incinerate

Regeneration abilities that would affect that creature can still be activated; they just won’t do anything. The creature can’t be regenerated for any reason, even if an effect other than Incinerate would deal lethal damage to it or otherwise destroy it.

Incinerate deals 3 damage to any target. A creature dealt damage this way can't be regenerated this turn.

Insidious Bookworms

When Insidious Bookworms dies, you may pay {1}{B}. If you do, target player discards a card at random.

Kjeldoran Dead

The sacrifice is a triggered ability and not a cost.

When Kjeldoran Dead's "enters" ability resolves, if you don't control any other creatures, you must sacrifice Kjeldoran Dead itself.

When Kjeldoran Dead enters, sacrifice a creature.
{B}: Regenerate Kjeldoran Dead.

The winged helms of the guard are put on for pageants—but taken off for war.

Kjeldoran Elite Guard

{T}: Target creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn. When that creature leaves the battlefield this turn, sacrifice Kjeldoran Elite Guard. Activate only during combat.

Kjeldoran Home Guard

The ability will trigger only if Kjeldoran Home Guard is still on the battlefield at end of combat. If it’s been dealt lethal combat damage and destroyed during that combat (or has left the battlefield during that combat by any other means), its ability won’t trigger and you won’t get a token.

You put the Deserter token onto the battlefield even if you can’t put a -0/-1 counter on Kjeldoran Home Guard (because it left the battlefield after its ability triggered but before it resolved, for example).

At end of combat, if Kjeldoran Home Guard attacked or blocked this combat, put a -0/-1 counter on Kjeldoran Home Guard and create a 0/1 white Deserter creature token.

Kjeldoran Pride

The activated ability moves this card to a new permanent.

Phantasmal Fiend

Note that the wording "Effects that alter the creature's power alter its toughness instead, and vice versa, this turn" has been removed.

Effects that switch power and toughness are always applied last when determining a creature's power and toughness, even if other power/toughness-changing effects are created later in the turn. For example, if you activate Phantasmal Fiend's first ability, it will become 2/4. Then if you activate its second ability, it will become 4/2. Then if you activate its first ability again, it will become 3/3.

Because damage remains marked on a creature until the damage is removed as the turn ends, nonlethal damage dealt to a creature may become lethal if you switch its power and toughness during that turn.

Effects that switch a creature's power and toughness apply after all other effects, regardless of when those effects began to apply. For instance, if you target a 1/2 creature then give it +2/+0 later in the turn, it's a 2/3 creature, not a 4/1 creature.

Switching a creature's power and toughness twice (or any even number of times) effectively returns the creature to the power and toughness it had before any switches.

{B}: Phantasmal Fiend gets +1/-1 until end of turn.

Plains

Portent

This does not cause a player to lose if they have less than 3 cards in their library. It allows you to look at and reorder or shuffle whatever remaining cards there might be.

Look at the top three cards of target player's library, then put them back in any order. You may have that player shuffle.

Soul Burn deals X damage to any target. You gain life equal to the damage dealt, but not more than the amount of {B} spent on X, the player's life total before the damage was dealt, the planeswalker's loyalty before the damage was dealt, or the creature's toughness.

Storm Elemental

Even though the two activated abilities have the same cost, they’re separate. You choose which one you’re activating before you exile the top card of your library (and see what it is).

If you activate Storm Elemental’s third ability and the exiled card is not a snow land, the ability has no effect.

Flying
